I have my favorite Swedish magazine, Skona Hem, sent to me every month. The shipping costs more than the magazine itself but I just couldn't stand the thought of moving to across the atlantic and completely loose touch with the Scandinavian style and product news, so I am happily paying for that subscription year after year. And every month when that thick envelope comes in my mailbox everything else stops for a couple of minutes until I have thumbed my way through it. I usually only have time for a quick glance right away but at least then I know what is coming once things have calmed down around the house and I can sit down and read it properly. One of the recent issues had this beautiful home that just made me feel like cancelling dinner altogether and pause in awe. I just adore everything about this home (and the family who lives there have kids too - that gives me hope!)
I know this is not your average simplistic 'scandinavian style' home. And that's just what I love so much. It's definitely a Scandimerican home. It strikes the perfect balance between the two. Peaceful but not boring. Light but not bare. Airy but well dressed.
What's your favorite part of this home? Mine is the kitchen. Definitely the kitchen. That grey cabinet..so great!
