What a great Easter weekend it has been! There has been sun, sledding, easter egg hunts, lots of great dinners and friends for a few days straight. I really hope you have all had as much fun and relaxation as we have. And I still have one more day off work..one of those luxurious days when I'm all on my own because the kids are at school. I'm thinking I am going to go to a few places to look for tile for my kitchen. Exciting right!? I know!!!
We have a white kitchen with black granite countertops and a white tile backsplash behind the stove and now I'm thinking I would like to have some tile under the wall cabinets as well. Just to give it a bit more of a finished look.
The right tile can make all the difference in a kitchen or a bath and just like paint, it's actually a pretty easy update. I have thought a bit about what kind of tile I want and there are so many good options it's really been tough to come to a decision. White is always a classic and bright choice, or maybe marble....or perhaps something just a touch more cozy like a warm grey? And then I stumbled upon this picture in one of my magazines.
The picture and the kitchen is from Kvänum and is called Broby Sand. It's gorgeous...I really like the old fashioned kitchens where the drawers and doors are flush with the actual cabinets. Of course I'm not looking for an entirely new kitchen, I just really like this color tile that they have used. They are not too dark, but they are not plain white and they have a classy and timeless air around them. There's the character and softness at the same time. Of course, in this kitchen the countertop is marble so mine is going to look different, but I think it's going to work. I think this tile looks great against those black appliances so I'm sure a black countertop would get me close to that look.
Now, if I only knew where to find that tile... This is a common conundrum for me. I don't know what I want, until I know exactly what I want and then I have trouble finding it. Does that ever happen to you?
Well. I better get going..I have a feeling I'll be making a few stops to find what I'm looking for. If you know where I should look, please let me know! Otherwise..wish me luck!
