I'm pretty sure fall is my absolute favorite time of the year. You know, when you get to slip into a pair of jeans again and pull on that soft knitted cardigan and pull on your boots. You long to make soups and stews and crumble pies and sip on a cup of hot apple cider. Most of all, I love when I get to spend time inside my home again and how it warrants a makeover to suit the newfound ambitions of a new year at school and work.
This time of year is also when a lot of new interior trends and products are being released. I'm sure you've seen the steady stream of pictures on Instagram from all those lucky people who are seeing all the news first hand at the fairs. Formex just ended in Stockholm and Maison et Objet is just starting up in Paris. I don't think anyone can have missed that SILVER has entered the stage this fall? So after having been completely overflowed with the warmth and beauty of brass on EVERYTHING, now we're supposed to just put all that away and fall head over heals in love with silver? I'll be honest, it's been a concern of mine for the past weeks. I JUST got home with my Gloria in brass (which also just got released in silver BTW)! I'm not ready to give it up yet! I still love the shimmer of brass in my home. Then again I definitely am falling pretty hard for the silver items..it feels elegant and definitely more modern, don't you think?
So when I saw this new silver version of Skultuna's 'London' by Lara Bohinc, my heart made an extra beat..first off this picture is gorgeous. Second, see how the base is still brass?! That just about makes this the perfect piece to allow me to use both metals in a room. Brass is not gone - it's just got company. Phew!
