Is it already Tuesday? I can't believe how fast the days go by now that spring has sprung! And this week will feel even shorter since I had to stay home on Monday with my little guy. We woke up and got through our morning routine as always, dropped big brother off at school and continued towards pre-school and work. He told me he had a tummy ache but I didn't think much of it, I just told him he would have to use the potty when we got to school. We got there and I tried to say good bye. He was whining a little which he never does... and then all of a sudden he barfed all over the floor. So yeah. After cleaning that up we went right back home. That's one way of starting your day as a working mom. Of course, the rest of the day he had more energy than usual and asked for food every 15 minutes, so not much got done work-wise for me but that usually works itself out one way or another. There's always nights and weekends, right? So far I've got you wondering what this has to do with the headline of this post right? Well, the flip side of that coin is that I got to enjoy a cup of my favorite tea and my home made walnut bread for breakfast. Much better than the microwaved oatmeal and coffee in a paper cup I usually end up with.
Also, I got to take a bike ride with my little dude in the afternoon. That's a pretty rare treat. It felt especially great since it was actually sunshine! Last week and this entire weekend has been just snow, sleet and grey skies. I shouldn't complain..we have about 250 sun days a year, but it's sort of like working out. Once your body is used to it you get kind of grumpy when you go a few days without.
Lastly, I sort of randomly ended up changing the curtains in the living room this weekend and I was really happy about that too yesterday. It's a great feeling when you have that new and fresh room and you just enjoy looking at it. I got to sit in it and work for the day yesterday. Well, a few minutes at a time at least, between the requests for forts, pushing on the swings and snacks :-)
